Lab of the Future?
Lab of the Future is an EU-funded project under Erasmus+ Programme (2025–2028) that develops practical and immersive training materials on key digitalisation tools—AI, VR, IoT, Blockchain, Cybersecurity and Cloud-LIMS—for lab technicians, VET learners and trainers.
The aim: accelerate the digital and green transition of European laboratories.

Digitalization Cases Studies and interactive exercises.
Immersive e-learning platform.
Competency-based learning in EQF level 4.

Main Objectives
Development of a training programme (EQF 4) and an immersive learning platform that enables target groups to acquire key tools and knowledge in terms of digitalisation and sustainability.
Provide VET students, trainers and laboratories an e-learning space and platform where to be able to develop their knowledge of digital technologies and tools.
Extend the project's successful digitalisation practices to the European context through the WG.
Facilitate the digital and green transition through the training and content developed.
Acquisition and application of the knowledge acquired to a changing labour market.
Increase key skills in digitalisation, such as AI, Virtual Reality, IoT, Blockchain, Cybersecurity and Cloud-LIMS.
The Project Team
The transnational dimension of the Lab of the Future project is a key element of it success and relevance at EU scope in the laboratory sector.
The Lab of the Future project will significantly enhance the understanding of how digitalisation and sustainability are reshaping laboratory environments across Europe. It will make it easier for education providers, laboratories and organisations to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation within this evolving ecosystem.
